XIME began its journey in Bangalore as a pioneering endeavour in management education. Today, it stands as a distinguished premier Business School with campuses in Bangalore, Kochi, and Chennai.

Deeply rooted in its values as well as academic rigour, and social relevance, XIME has grown into an outstanding business school that places integrity, leadership excellence, commitment to social equity and service to society at the heart of management education.

Maria Philip – Our Inspiration

Some institutions are born from ambition. XIME was born from a promise.

Maria Philip, daughter of Prof. J. Philip, was a gifted student, leader, and orator whose vision extended beyond personal success to empowering young people through education. An intellectually gifted student at Convent of Jesus & Mary, New Delhi, she was a graduate in B.A (Hons) Psychology. Her passion for Human Resource Management led her to pursue her Master’s program in Personnel Management at the Madras School of Social Work.

Born on 9 April 1964, she lived a life of intellectual curiosity, confidence, and social commitment. Her untimely passing in 1986 left her dream of contributing to excellent education to hone human capital under her scholar father’s guidance, was unrealised but not forgotten. In her memory, Prof. J. Philip committed himself to building an institution that would give form to her aspirations. XIME stands tall as the living fulfilment of that promise.

XIME draws its lasting inspiration and energy from Maria Philip’s vision that continues to inspire future leaders emerging from its portals. Our commitment to her dream is evoked annually by XIME’s flagship event, the Maria Philip Future Leaders Debate, held on campuses in South India and marked by keen participation.
