The discussions feel lively, practical, and often eye-opening, and they’ve helped me become more confident, articulate, and thoughtful in the way I approach problems. The Design Thinking Lab at XIME Bangalore has been a transformative part of my PGDM journey. It enabled me to engage in practical, user-centric problem-solving and go beyond classroom theory. My understanding of how to deconstruct complex issues and create significant solutions has improved through exercises such as empathy mapping, journey analysis, and rapid prototyping. Working on a project where our team redesigned a student service experience was one of my most worthwhile experiences. It taught me how important it is to fully comprehend user pain points before making suggestions.

What I appreciate most is the lab’s collaborative and experimental environment. Learning was made fun and useful through peer brainstorming, prototype testing, and mentor feedback.These workshops gave me more creative confidence and demonstrated how design thinking can be used in a variety of industries, including operations, marketing, and product development. My approach to solving problems in the real world has been greatly influenced by the Design Thinking Lab.

The IoT Lab at XIME plays a significant role in molding the way PGDM students interact with technology-driven business models. With the corporate environment becoming increasingly digital, today's managers are supposed to make informed decisions based on data, automation, and real-time intelligence; this is exactly where IoT becomes indispensable.

The IoT Lab allows us to go beyond theoretical learning by getting practical exposure to how connected systems acquire data, optimize processes, and improve operations efficiency. In addition to this, hands-on learning reinforces our analytic bent of mind, refines problem-solving capabilities, and equips us with an operational understanding of digital transformation, operations, supply chain management, and product strategy.

Initially, I found the platform challenging due to the large number of functions, the unique keyboard layout, and the overall unfamiliar interface. However, with consistent practice, I became comfortable navigating the system, using shortcuts, opening sub-tabs, and managing multiple windows—much like operating a sophisticated web browser. Despite this flexibility, the terminal remains highly focused and dedicated to a single purpose: delivering fast, comprehensive financial information.

The platform’s performance is impressive, with very low lag, and I have benefited greatly from its structured datasets and visual representations. Completing certifications such as ESG, Bloomberg Finance Fundamentals, and currently Market Fundamentals, has further deepened my understanding. I also explored various functions, including ANR for screening stocks based on analyst ratings, DS for company descriptions, and GP for graphical analysis. These tools make it easy to work with large amounts of organised data in a clear and intuitive way.

Another advantage is the ability to compare multiple countries simultaneously—whether it is consumer price index trends, commodity prices, or interest rates. For company-level analysis, I found the ESG datasets particularly valuable, including disclosures aligned with the Article 7/8/9 classifications and emissions data across Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 under the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

Overall, the Bloomberg Terminal feels like a complete information ecosystem, allowing me to access and understand global markets from a single platform in real time. The only limitation I observed in the academic version is the 15-minute delay in live market data compared to the professional version.

Two years ago, I stepped into XIME with ambition in my heart and a thousand questions in my mind. Today, as I have stepped into the corporate world with KGS, I look back with immense gratitude. This place gave me more than a degree. It gave me direction, resilience, and a community I’ll always carry with me. The learning was intense, the competition was real, and yet, the support from friends, faculty, and mentors never faded. To every junior reading this: You’re stronger than you know. Stay consistent, be kind to yourself during the lows, and don’t hesitate to ask for help. Because here, you’re never really alone. Trust your path and it will take you somewhere beautiful.
